Sunflower Field — Original Painting

An original painting of a sunflower field in full bloom — with no horizon, no sky and no empty space. Only sunflowers, head beside head, filling the canvas from edge to edge.

I painted it the way a sunflower field actually feels when you walk into it: the flowers are taller than you, they close in from every side, and all you can see is yellow turned toward the light.

Every flower was painted individually. Each head is built from layer after layer of yellow — deep gold, warm ochre, pale butter yellow where the sun catches the edge of a petal — around dark, textured centres. Behind them the greens run from almost black in the shade to bright, sunlit yellow-green on the leaves. Up close you can see each separate flower. Step back, and the whole canvas turns into light.

Sunflowers are the most generous flower I know. They follow the sun all day, they stand tall, and they hold their colour even when the season turns. I wanted the painting to carry that same feeling — warmth that does not ask for anything, it is simply there.

Every stroke was painted by me using my feet, which makes this artwork completely unique and deeply connected to my personal artistic journey.
