I’m happy to share a special feature about my art and journey published by MuseumWeek Magazine.
In October 2025, MuseumWeek published an interview with me titled “The Wings of Color: Dejana Nezic’s Barrier-Free Art.”
The interview was conducted by journalist and art writer Fabio Pariante and gave me an opportunity to share not only my paintings, but also the story behind Girl With Wings.

My Story, Art and Creative Process
During the interview, we talked about how my artistic journey began when I was a child and how painting with my feet became my natural way of expressing ideas, emotions and the way I see the world.
I also shared more about the colorful pop-art style that has become such an important part of my work today, as well as the inspiration I find in animals, cities, travel, nature and personal experiences.
We talked about my creative process too — from the first idea or sketch to the moment I begin applying acrylic paint to canvas with my feet.
More Than Painting
The conversation also went beyond art.
I had the opportunity to speak about my journey through sport, becoming a mother, building Girl With Wings and why my husband and I decided to share so much of our everyday life and work through social media.
For me, art has always been about much more than creating something beautiful.
It is a way to communicate freedom, individuality, energy and possibility.
Thank You, MuseumWeek
It means a lot to see my work and story presented to an international audience through a platform dedicated to art, culture and creativity.
I’m grateful to MuseumWeek Magazine and Fabio Pariante for giving me the opportunity to share another part of my journey.
